BUYING POINTS
It is permissible to move a point spread up to 2 points in your favor. You
must pay an extra US$.10 for each half point that the line is moved (you
lay -120 instead of -110). When buying a half point that moves the line
either on or off 3 it costs US$.20 instead of US$.10.
Example: Penn State is +3 and you want to make a bet at +4. The line starts at
-110 and the first half point move costs US$.20 because it moves off of
3. At +3.5 Penn State is -130. The next half point costs US$.10 so at +4
Penn State is -140. To bet Penn State at +4 the bettor must risk
US$140.00 to win US$100.00.
